Ryan will work across the aisle to ensure law enforcement and first responders have the tools they need to keep our communities safe. He supports the expansion of smart, commonsense public safety solutions such as problem-solving courts, which have a proven track record of reducing recidivism and lowering the burden on law enforcement officers. To increase police and fire response times, Ryan supports embedding mental health and addiction support peers to assist law enforcement on non-violent mental health crisis calls—giving law enforcement more resources and time to respond to emergency calls.
